Angina pectoris

This is a type of disease caused by myocardial ischaemia.

Etymology

From the Greek ankhone = choke
From the Latin angere = strangle
Angina refers to a feeling of strangling and choking.
From the Latin pectus, pectoris = upper chest, breast
Pectoris = of the chest.

 

Types

 Microvascular angina (cardiac syndrome X)
