This is a notifiable disease. This means that all diagnosed cases must be reported to the national Public Health services.

 

Etymology

• Greek : tûphos (τύφος) : hazy.
• This describes the state of mind of those infected.

• Orientia tsutsugamushi
• Rickettsia prowazekii
• Rickettsia typhi

• Paratyphoid fever
