There are two major patterns: pANCA and cANCA.
This is a test for an antibody (immunoglobulin) in the serum.
Clinical indications:
- Rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis
- Pulmonary haemorrhage
- Small vessel vasculitis
- Granulomatosis with polyangiitis
- Microscopic polyangiitis
- Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis
Profile:
- Anti Myeloperoxidase antibody (MPO) and anti-Proteinase 3 antibody (PR3) if ANCA positive.
