Symptoms
- Sudden onset chest pain.
- This is a 'constrictive' pain.
- It radiates to the neck or the left arm.
Signs
- Diaphoresis (sweating)
- Pallor
Pathophysiology
- Allergen exposure
- Type 1 hypersensitivity reaction
- Coronary artery spasm
- Myocardial ischaemia
- Cardiac chest pain
Epidemiology
- In 2017, only 175 authentic cases of Kounis syndrome could be found in the medical literature.
