Vitamin C

Nutrients


This is a water soluble vitamin.
Also known as ascorbic acid.

 

Function

  • Maintaining health of:
    • Cells
    • Skin
    • Blood vessels
    • Bones
    • Cartilage
  • Facilitating wound healing

 

Deficiency

 

Poisoning

  • Vitamin C is a substance with very low toxicity.
  • The LD5050 is 11900 milligrams (11.9 grams) per kilogram in rat populations.
  • There have been no reported cases of deaths from Vitamin C poisoning.
