The kidney is shaped by a need to regulate the levels of fluid in our bodies. It responds to feedback and changes how much water it releases into urine according to how much water we need. It has a unique toolkit for the removal of toxins and waste from the blood. It's involved in bone maintenance and red blood cell production.
