Obstructive shock
This is a type of
shock
caused by an obstruction to outflow of blood from the heart or major vessels. Fluid cannot be mechanically pumped around the vasculature at a sufficient rate to supply the organs.
Causes
Cardiac tamponade
Pulmonary embolism
Tension pneumothorax
Aortic stenosis
Aortic coarctation
