Also known as Goodpasture's syndrome.

Anti-GBM disease usually causes a deterioriation in kidney function.
The lungs are also affected and these patients may present with haemoptysis.

 

Pathology

It is widely believed that there is an autoimmune response to the alpha-3 subunit of type IV collagen.
