Anti-nuclear Antibody

Commonly known as ANA.
This is a test for an antibody (immunoglobulin) in the serum.
Includes Anti-centromere antibodies

 

Clinical indications:

    Anti-nuclear antibodies can be associated with a multitude of connective tissue diseases and also liver associated diseases.

     

    Profile:

    Extractable nuclear antigens (Ro, La, Sm, RNP, Scl70 and Jo-1), and dsDNA antibody performed if ANA positive or cytoplasmic antibody associated with connective tissue disease indicated.
