[Hepatology] Introduction

Hepatologists specialise in diseases of the pancreas, liver, gallbladder, and biliary tract.
There is significant overlap with gastroenterology and infectiology.

 

Etymology

Ancient Greek ἧπᾰρ, ἥπᾰτος (hêpar, hḗpatos) = liver
