Anti-GAD

This is a test for an antibody (immunoglobulin) in the serum. This antibody binds to glutamic acid decarboxylase (anti-GAD).

 

Clinical indications:

• Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus
• Stiff-person syndrome (60% sensitivity)
