Definition

Arthritis refers to any condition of joints of the limbs or spine associated with inflammatory or structural change.

It is distinguished from arthralgia which simply implies joint pain with or without any inflammatory or structural change.

This refers to chronic inflammation of the liver.
It is a type of chronic liver disease.

 

Causes 

• High total alcohol consumption. For example, most people with alcoholic hepatitis have a history of drinking 100g of ethanol (7 units) every day for 20 years.
• Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. Also called fatty liver. 
• Chronic viral hepatitis
• Autoimmune hepatitis
• Metabolic disorder 
• Wilson's disease 
• Hereditary haemochromatosis 
• Medications 

 

Complications

• Cirrhosis
• Hepatocellular carcinoma
